Glubble – the browser for kids
Quick news flash, Glubble is the safe children friendly internet browser. Read the full details over at Techcrunch, Nick Gonzalez writes the perfect analysis, which I don’t need to add too much here ;0)
More info quickly on Glubble…(source, Glubble)
Glubble puts the web in the hands of families…
- Glubble Trusted Surfing for children under 12 years of age enables families to be sure they only see the best of the web they choose to allow.
- Glubble Altered Search makes Google and Yahoo show results from childrens trusted Glubbleworld instead of the world wide web.
- Child friendly look and feel with interfaces for pre-reading and reading age young children.
Doesn’t that already make you feel better. Now I think I will download, as it was one problem stopping me from teaching my little cousin (8yr old) how to do basic html coding. Now I think I will teach him and not have to worry about his dad being concerned.
Check out Glubble…

Glubble sounds great. I would like to use this for my kids computer. Has anyone here used it and found it to work well?

Hi, my name is Bartel Scheers and I’m with Glaxstar, the makers of Glubble.
Thanks for posting about Glubble. That’s much appreciated! I thought I drop by to update you a little about Glubble’s status. Since last Summer we’ve had over 40,000 users giving us feedback about their experience with Glubble. At Glaxstar a full time team of engineers has been working daily for the last 6 months to super improve Glubble based on our users feedback and ideas.
You might find it interesting to know that we have now released Glubble Family Edition (or Glubble 1.0) for public download at http://www.glubble.com. I hope you want to give it a try and find for yourself that Glubble has evolved from its Beta-version into a complete new product with super cool new features, an almost doubled whitelist, and improved functionality.
Again thanks for posting about Glubble.
Best regards,
Bartel Scheers

Dear Whoever can answer,
Does it mean having installed Glubble on my computer, it can only be good for the use of the children ? Can i not do normal search on it any more ? Does it mean it needs to be installed in children’s exclusive computer ? I have only one computer in the house and was thinking of employing some safe guard against internet for my two young boys who like to go on net for gaming and at times bump into wrong age inappropriate sites. Will glubble help in that as well?
Your response will help me take the decision. Thanks
Namita

Dear Namita,
With Glubble installed you can:
* do normal searches if you are using the browser in an “unlocked” mode (i.e. if you are a parent)
* do limited and safe searches if you are a kid using the browser
About installation:
)
* you can install Glubble in your kids’s computer, and they will have a kids interface, with the safety it implies.
* you can install Glubble in you computer, and you will have a nromal browser, that notifies you with a simple popup about the new pages your kid wants to visit (you can also turn off the notifications)
* or… install it in the 1 computer you have, and switch to kids mode when your kids want to use the computer, and switch back to parent’s mode when you want to use it (it’s password protected, so you kid can not switch back
If you have 2 computers (e.g. 1 at home and 1 at work) you can send messages (and share photos) from your browser to your kid’s browser as well, so it’s a nice way to share a family experience. You can do the same by using 1 some browser for both, of course.
Hope it answers and helps you take a decision.
Regards,
Adriana
